Fantasy takes many forms, it can manifest in unfulfilled desires, imagined realities and dreams. We often carry our fantasies in secret, hiding them from the world around us and even our closest friends. Sometimes we do this because our dreams are too personal and idiosyncratic for others to understand, sometimes we do it for fear of what others will think. Bentley aims to explore spaces that harbor our our private expressions of the self realized through highly intimate images that evoke psychic contemplations of vibrations felt through relationships. Her figures call to mind the visual imagery of Georges Bataille or Henry Darger and ask the viewer to consider their own perversions.
